Friction Force
Friction force is the resistance to sliding between a seal and the hardware’s mating surface.
There are many factors that contribute towards this friction force including but not limited to:-
- Seal diameter
- Lubrication
- Hardware material and surface finish
- System pressure
- Seal geometry
- Material coefficients
- Spring type and material
It is difficult to predict exact running and break-out friction values and therefore any values given can only be classed as estimates. Because of this it is recommended to contact our technical department for further information and also test under actual working conditions.
